Eligibility:

•  2025 Female High School graduate in Gregg County
•  U.S. Citizen or legal resident
•  Affirm personal and political values align with the Republican Platform
• Is a registered voter age 18 by August 2025 with plans to act on their patriotic duty and VOTE
• Minimum High School GPA equivalent to a “B” and provide transcripts
• Three (3) character letters of recommendation (school, community or church)
• Write a 300-word essay on your educational goals and future career plans
• Proof of acceptance to a 2 or 4 year college or accredited trade school
• To receive funds, recipient must present proof of admittance to a 2 or 4 year college or trade school
•  If selected, is able to accept the scholarship July 16th, at The Jalapeno Tree in Longview at 12 noon
• Provides written permission to allow their photo be taken and provided to the Longview News Journal and social media.
• Essay must be the applicant’s original thoughts and words and should reflect the level of composition and standard use of the English language generally expected of entering college freshman. Use paragraphs, correct spelling and punctuation, and concise sentences with a subject and predicate that agree.
  Essay format requirements:
   Times New Romans 12 pt. font and double-spaced with 1-inch margins
   not to exceed two 8.5” x 11” pages
   at least 300 words, not counting the title (include word count at the end of your essay)
   Title your essay
   quotes and/or references though not required must be cited using MLA format
   do not include your name on the essay itself It is strongly advised that another person review your work for corrections as noted above. Computer spell and grammar check does not catch all errors! All applicants receive fair and equal review. All decisions are final.
